Standard Cakes

(If you are a looking for one-of-a-kind designs for your special event or simcha, take a look at my Custom Cakes page.)

Cakes are a very special part of the work I do at Love Plus Flour. A beautiful cake creates a lasting impression visually and emotionally, whether you are celebrating a birthday or other milestone – they are bound up in those memories and add a whole new dimension.

Sometimes you want a simple cake to add a little flair to a meal, or to top of a simple, but no less special event. That’s what you’ll find on this page: the standard cakes Love Plus Flour can create at (almost) a moment’s notice* and are available for pickup any day of the week**. They feature my gourmet non-dairy (pareve) buttercream frosting and the most popular flavor combinations.

To order any of the beautiful and delicious cakes you see below, call, email, or text using the information at the top of every page.

* For us here at Love Plus Flour, “a moment’s notice” means at least 24 hours’ notice.
** Except Saturday and the Jewish holidays (chagim). We’re really REALLY closed on those days.

Cake Flavors

Chocolate Lover’s

Here at Love Plus Flour, we love our chocolate. So of course at top of this list is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. You can get it in a 6″ or 8″ round, and the double-stack design means you get another layer of chocolate frosting in between.

Vanilla Lover’s

Just because we love our chocolate doesn’t mean vanilla doesn’t get any attention. This vanilla cake is topped with buttercream frosting. Just like the chocolate cake, this comes in a 6″ or 8″ round, double-stacked, with a layer of buttercream in the middle

Cookies and Cream

Just the name “cookies and cream” conjures up daydreams of deliciousness. This is my signature vanilla cake, covered in buttercream frosting that’s had a generous helping crushed cookies (those chocolate sandwich cookies you love) blended in. Topped with a rich chocolate ganache and a few dollops of frosting (and cookies), this is sure to delight both your guests around the table and your taste buds!

Peanut Butter Chocolate

If there is any flavor that pairs well with chocolate, it’s peanut butter. This cake features my signature chocolate cake, frosted with a specially blended peanut butter frosting (not just peanut butter flavoring!). Then I top it off with a creamy chocolate ganache to make this a true “drip cake” that you’ll love to dip into slice after slice.

Festive Sprinkle Cake

Some of us are just a sucker for sprinkles – add them to anything from cakes to cookies and it just screams “party time”! This is my vanilla cake, generously topped with delicious buttercream frosting. Then I add a coating of multi-colored sprinkles to the sides and top, to make this dessert look like edible fireworks on your table, not to mention the sweet fireworks it will set off in your mouth.

Red Velvet

Red velvet cake came into prominence in the early 1900’s, and the recipe I use hearkens back to the original, featuring cocoa and buttermilk, which makes this cake more than just “chocolate cake with red food coloring”. Even though “velvet” refers to the smooth texture of the cake, my non-dairy (pareve) cream-cheese frosting is definitely velvety as well, and adds just the right amount of sweetness to the dessert.

La La La La Lemon

Sometimes you’ve had all the chocolate you can manage (it’s rare for us here at Love Plus Flour, but it happens!). If that’s the case for you, then you should consider this zesty lemon dessert. It’s my signature vanilla cake, frosted with a lemon buttercream. The candied lemon accents complete both the look and the taste of this refreshing alternative.

Caramel Chocolate

Someone once told me this cake tasted like a chocolate sundae you ate with a fork, and I have to agree. It’s my chocolate cake covered with a caramel frosting. a drizzle of caramel over the top completes the flavor and the overall look of the dessert.
